Liang Zhao, Associate ASLA
“Ask me about my earring collection!” might have been the statement on a tee-shirt line designed by Liang (a road untaken), but she chose to excel in landscape architecture instead. Outdoor spaces that contribute to the community and become part of people’s memories and combining function with aesthetics are some of Liang’s aspirations as she begins her landscape architecture career. At Texas A&M University, Liang led a team of three graduate students to win the prestigious Texas ASLA 2016 Student Honor Award with their design. She recently enjoyed traveling around the United States with her non-English speaking parents, taking charge of navigating the adventure from coast to coast. Liang took in the natural and urban landscapes along the way, remembering them as inspirations for many projects yet to come.
