Santa Fe Community College

Location: Santa Fe, NM

Completed: 2005

with Brawley and Co. Architects

The project involved a complete renovation of the Central Plaza, including pedestrian amenities, plantings for year-round color, and lighting. The Plaza is a mix of public space, semi-private space and corridors that allow for a lively mix of activities.  Students and faculty use this plaza to congregate, rest, and study.  The paving materials and plantings create a human scale, making the plaza a comfortable outdoor living area.  Raised Trex decking was used as the paving material around existing cottonwood trees to limit impact on the root systems.
